Reading is such a great way to learn about the world and reading God's Word makes us understand how Christians fit into the universe..
I love Books such as Hawaii, Alaska, The Covenant, Centennial, Mexico, Texas, and all of James Mitchner's historical novels.. he goes back to the beginning of time and brings you up to the present. Others such as "the greatest thing in the world" tells about how the Transcontinental railroad was built.. If you want to read a Chaplain's perspective on Iraq, I think its called "the table" or there is Rolling Thunder, which tells how tanks were used to capture and subdue Baghdad.. I keep a book beside my bed and each night I try to read 5 or 6 pages.. right now I'm reading an autobiography of General Douglas McArthur, its fascinating.. There are many books about great Christians, The Gulag Archipelego, by Alexandar Solzinitsen...
or about Pear Harbor.. At Dawn We Slept... or Reagan's War.. about President Ronald Reagan...Books about leaders such as Eisenhower, Patton, Roosevelt, and more..
Keep reading and keep learning.. one that is short and pretty good is "Facing the New Village Athiest" by Hank Hannigraph..or the Bible Answer Book I and II..
Reading adventure such as Kon Tiki... or By the Dawn's Early Light, Flags of Their Fathers.. Fly Boys.. The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire... The Lost Legion..
so much great writing... do it daily and have fun learning.....its worth it..
