Rescue Mission team, this afternoon I did a live feed from USTREAM to our Operations team on the subject of How To Use Live Streaming Video at the Rescue Mission. It’s not a lecture so much as the beginning of a discussion. I’d like all the departments of the Rescue Mission to think of ways you can use video broadcast and live video chat to multiply our teaching in our drug programs, Life-Skills classes and for meetings. It can’t and won’t take the place of getting together and hug each others necks, but for some things it may be much more efficient and quite effective. Tell me your ideas. DC

Hey David, I think it’s just another tool for us to use for reaching our potential donors. I am trying to figure out ways to use it in the food services department. One idea might be to use it to stream feeds to donors during the cooking of meals to show the amount of work it actually takes to put together a breakfast/dinner meal. Maybe some Public Service Announcements for the ESC. At any rate, it should be fun to use. Great thinking!! God B w/U
Good feedback from the staff on ways to start using newer communication tools to do our work here at the mission.
We will press ahead with learning more about these tools.
I agree with you David – that there’s opportunities here. Will be fun to see how these technologies translate into our ministries here at the Mission.
I think this is going to take us to another level,i see great things happening with using this video cast across the board.I am all for this we can reach so many more people this way.Great thinking David .
I think that it is the wave of the future. Not only is it cost affective, it is time affective. Also, it serves more people. For example, if a class is being taught at Tyler Square, it can be viewed in real time and all folks can participate across the mission. This is a way to reach more people, more often, in less time, without the travel. I think that this would be a blast!!!!!!
