Alvin Helms, Chief Operating Officer of the Rescue Mission, has accepted an invitation from Carlsbad Community Church to become their Senior Pastor. Alvin has served with us for two years and he will be dearly missed. His good nature, tender heart for hurting people, and love of laughter are things that I really appreciate about Alvin. He’s become a big part of everybody’s life here.

Knowing what a quality church and opportunity he’s is accepting has me excited for him and his family, as Carlsbad Community is one of the great churches in Alvin’s denomination. In addition, it’s never a bad thing to have a friend, with a guest room, who has a place in the sweetest climate in the US.

We are having a party this Thursday at 2pm at our Downtown Tacoma Campus to give Alvin our blessing and send him off with our love. Please make time in your schedule to attend.
